Day 12 - Pitlochry then Home
..the last days ride...
A quick exit from Pitlochry put us onto the busy southbound A9, trying to outrun the starting rain showers.
We decided to take the quickest route home, down the A9, M90, M8, A720, A68 then A697.
This route only has, in my opinion, a couple of notable views on the ride home, firstly the bridges over the Firth of Forth.
Secondly the view south over the Cheviot Hills from Inkbottle Lodge, just south of Greenlaw on the A697.
Each of these views reminds me I am on my way home to Northumberland, and today these views were clear.
We arrived home in almost one piece (I will post an injury report in an imminent roundup/summary) having avoided the rain, but we were a little tired from the occasional blustery winds.
Until the next adventure...,,,,
