Day 1 - The Ride to Dalmunzie Castle
A wet start
The weather gods were not happy as we left Northumberland riding North.
It rained persistently as we travelled north on the A697 and the A68.
As we hit the Edinburgh city bypass the rain eventually stopped. To celebrate this good fortune we also decided to stop, to refuel both the bikes and ourselves.
It was the first time I had ridden over the new Queensferry crossing bridge with its tremendous views.
We took an early exit from the main road, through Rosyth and Dunfermline then routing through Glen Devon, onto Gleneagles towards Crieff for lunch.
After lunch break we rode to Dunkeld, Blairgowrie then towards Glenshee where a mile or so off the road we came to Dalmunzie Castle, a classic Victorian shooting lodge our resting place overnight.
