Day 9 - Applecross Excursion
Wet, wet, wet.......
Today's report cannot be complete without a full weather report. It rained. All day. There were some brief non-rain events, but they were very brief. No rays of sunshine today, just varying degrees of rain!!!
We left Torridon in the rain riding west towards the small fishing village of Shieldag. We followed the road towards Loch Carron.
Having considered the options and persistent precipitation we decided to go up the Bealach na Bà pass rather than down. Our Applecross excursion was to be a clockwise ride around the peninsula.
On reaching Applecross we had a hot drink, sheltered for the duration of a tremendous downpour then continued on our way along the coastal road north overlooking the Inner Sound.
We revisited Shieldaig hoping for a late lunch, unfortunately nowhere was open and we had to be content with cake and coffee.
A short run back to Torridon allowed us to shelter from the rain for the remainder of the day.
